Former GE CEO Jack Welch said Thursday the Obama administration's heavy focus on combating climate change is "radical behavior" that's holding back the economy.

"You get a reduced military," Welch said. "You get an economy that won't move. You get ozone regs that are wacky."

Money flows from influence,Welch may be retired but I doubt that his income is zero.

“He’s been saying the same thing since basically Day One of this administration.”

*********************

Not quite true. Early on in Obama’s administration Welch praised him and said the new president deserves “an ‘A’ in terms of leadership.” That’s a quote.

But yes, overall you’re right. Welch has generally been been critical.

Few people on this planet have an income of zero. Welch is very wealthy so he spends a lot of his time writing, teaching and doing some consulting. I just don’t see the need for him to curry favor with, or otherwise lobby Donald Trump for anything at this stage of his life. Except maybe for some type of economic advisory position in government.

If you ask a powerful and wealthy person how much money and influence is enough, the standard answer is,”More than I have.”

This doesn’t fit with your “suck up” theory but Welch has not always been complimentary of Trump. In fact, he supported Cruz.

Don’t think so?Welch doesn’t want to be shut out so he’s going to try to get Trump to think well of him.

Welch didn’t mind being “shut out” during the Bush administration. In fact during those years he was mostly writing and busy setting up the Jack Welch Management Institute.

Assigning motives that are not supported by actual actions in a person’s life is not really being objective.

Welch’s alma-mater, GE, was plenty interested in all that wind turbine business that came their way though...
