Unaware that the Times’ political advice was a gag, Wilson’s Democratic opponent, Kathleen Brown, was convinced opposition to Proposition 187 would propel her to victory. She campaigned against the proposition, urging voters to “send a message that says we understand that in diversity is our strength!”

Pete “Prop 187” Wilson won the election with 55 percent of the vote. That included 21 percent of the black vote — nearly three times the 8 percent average for Republicans in House races nationwide the same year.................This time will be Trump's immigration proposals

Proposition 187 was even more popular than Wilson, winning 59 percent to 41 percent. It was supported by a majority of white voters, a majority of black voters, a majority of Asian voters — and a third of Hispanic voters, i.e., more of the Hispanic vote than Mitt Romney got...........Trump may just win CA...

CA’s demographics in 1994 that unanimously passed Prop. 187 are almost exactly the same today in 2016.

GOP Nominee Donald J. Trump has the best chance of winning CA since Ronald W. Reagan.

Annie, do I really have to say it?

Politics is a dynamic, changing system.

What worked well in the 80s or the 90s didn't work well later because the state (and the country) changed in the meantime.

Love this part....... Unaware that the Times’ political advice was a gag....the moronic Democrat, Kathleen Brown, was convinced opposition to Proposition 187 would propel her to victory.

She campaigned against the proposition, urging voters to “send a message that says we understand that in diversity is our strength!”

....and lost bigtime.....

Ann Coulter – Key to Trump’s Victory: Math

The first time I read the headline I thought it said: Ann Coulter – Key to Trump’s Victory: Meth.

She has said some pretty goofy things from time to time, but this would have been way to much. Of course she did date Bill Maher, so hey anything is possible.

Kathleen Brown was joined in this by Jack Kemp, Bill Bennett, and the then governor of Texas, GW Bush. I never forgot who the traitors were.

In 1982, I sat in a phone tank at the top of a tall building in San Diego and bothered people to send money to Pete Wilson.
Can’t remember his first name but one of Gerald Ford’s boys stopped by, but I missed him.
I was good at it, but didn’t really enjoy it. It was satisfying to see Wilson beat Moonbeam.

I think Trump is figuring this out.
Today in Sacramento he cited statistics that show illigals get a $1,000.00 more a month in welfare benefits than citizens.

If he can get that message out to blacks he will get a lot of their votes.
