Is there really a scandal? Or is the “ACLU” creating one?
Basically Arpaio is being hounded for trying to enforce the law. The judge and the ACLU want the law broken.
Scandal? Yes, Arpaio has been “investigated” for civil rights violations numerous times and was certain that the Justice Dept. and others were colluding to remove him from office. He attempted to prove it, but apparently lied to the judge about it. What’s ironic about this is that he’s right, as evidenced by Judge Snow, the US Attorney and the ACLU.
It frustrated the hell out of Eric Holder that Arpaio, a very conservative Republican, was elected as the Sheriff of Maricopa County, a predominantly Democratic area.
