Thanks for the information...though I think that you missed my reference to Highlander - “There can be only one” refers to 1 survivor of the immortals that were the main characters of that show. 2 branches of the clan - part of the same joke...though there were/are 2 branches, according to you. Again, thanks.
I’d be interested in seeing some source material for that stuff about the Kennedy clan. Its a bit over the top, but then again, lots of folks in olden times in the old country were what we’d call “over the top.”
It was the fourth Earl Of Cassillis, who was described as “ane werry greedy man” and was the one who was remembered for literally roasting the Abbot of Crossraguel at Dunmure Castle in 1570 to get title to the abbeys lands.
The man was rescued by another branch of the Kennedys of Bargany, who were engaged in a fued with the senior branch.
This in 1570. BTW, very few of the Kennedy leaders died of natural deaths back then.
Wahtever one can say about the Scots, they were unruly and would resort to some of the most horrendous methods of extracting whatever they wanted out of their targets. There was not one Clan who could be claimed as a peaceful bunch as far as I know.
