Why Is This Hardcore Conservative Not #NeverTrump? Because Hillary Is So Much Worse
Townhall.com ^ | May 30, 2016 | Kurt Schlichter

Posted on 05/30/2016 6:16:41 AM PDT by Kaslin

I've got a lot of #NeverTrump friends. Heck, I bet most of my friends are #NeverTrump. Hell, my wife is #NeverTrump. I like #NeverTrump people, even though I think they're wrong. We share the same goals. We just have really crappy choices and are making different ones.

I assume they all think I'm wrong too, and I'm not going to argue with them. For one thing, they're my friends. I don't want to argue with my friends. I want to mock stupid libs with my friends while consuming red meat and redder wine. The second reason is that I'm not going to change their minds, nor are they going to change mine (although Donald Trump himself still retains that power should he become sufficiently annoying).

So we should just sit down, have some beers, and talk about something else until November because we're not going to change and fighting each other redirects the fire away from our real enemy.

That's Hillary Clinton. She's the real enemy.

So these aren’t arguments. These are reasons. Why am I giving my general election vote to somebody who is often demonstrably unconservative, can be dreadfully immature, and who has a past that's absolutely bloodcurdling to any conservative? Well, I'll tell you.

Hillary is worse.

It's that simple.

Hillary is worse.

Now, some people disagree that Hillary is worse than Trump. They see them as occupying precisely the same bandwidth in the spectrum of failure. Not so. Hillary is demonstrably horrible, and in a purely utilitarian calculation The Donald offers a marginally greater chance of being less horrible. Hence, Trump.

Let's look at their respective policies. Hillary’s policies are all liberal all of the time, and always will be all liberal all of the time. Trump has embraced some terrible policies in the past, but also a number of conservative policies. With Hillary, I have exactly 0% chance of her implementing conservative policies. With Trump, I have a >0% chance of having him implement conservative policies. Advantage Trump.

Hillary absolutely will nominate Supreme Court justices who will gut the First and Second Amendments and treat the Commerce Clause like one of Bill’s interns. Trump has provided a list of potential nominees who won’t, and he might choose Justice Scalia’s replacement from among them. Advantage Trump.

Some say that Donald Trump is an “authoritarian.” But Trump cares nothing about what I do personally. Hillary, on the other hand, cares deeply about what I do personally because she's a totalitarian. She wants to control what I think, feel, and do, and even what bathroom I want to do it in. Trump may have shrugged his shoulders at the idea of transgender potties, but that's not the kind of idea that he would ever come up with. He doesn’t care. However, it's exactly the kind of obnoxious, intrusive idea libfascists like Hillary come up with. Trump just wants to sit around being rich and famous. Hillary wants to improve people like me and forcibly morph us into her neutered vision of the new socialist beta male she's been dreaming of since she was an embittered last call five at Wellesley.

Trump may be kind of thuggish, but he'll leave me alone. Hillary's going to come looking for me, and she’s foolish and clueless enough to push and push until we normals get tired of it and start to push back. I, for one, prefer my country not to be sucked into a second civil war because some former president’s angry wife is playing out a freakish psychodrama revenge fantasy against all the guys who have rejected her, from her father to Bill to those of us male-identifying men who laugh at her cankles. Advantage Trump.

And once in power, who would be checked and balanced? The whole Democratic Party plus all their media pals would be out to lasso Trump Gone Wild. So would the Deep State – the bureaucracy would be eager to passively egress The Donald should he overstep. And they would likely be joined by establishment Republicans who think that fighting liberals “is not who we are.” Should he give them cause, they would impeach Trump in a heartbeat. So even assuming Trump wanted to be a dictator – frankly, a pretty silly notion – he couldn’t be one.

But Hillary has an entire party and a cultural apparatus behind her that actually believes in the progressive fascism that she adores. Stop her? These Alinskyite apparatchiks will be cheering her on. And do you think the GOP establishment is going to suddenly grow a set of those things Hillary hates and fight? Yeah, right. She could sacrifice a toddler to Baal in Lafayette Park and not be impeached. Hillary would have the eager support of Democratic fellow travelers, liberal judges, the left wing bureaucracy, a corrupt media and Hollywood, all of them encouraging this dumb, vindictive shrew to put a “her” in Führer.

So if you're concerned about real fascism instead of fantasy fascism, advantage Trump.

Finally, let’s talk about principles. I understand principles. I put myself in places that could have gotten me killed over principles. And there are a lot of my conservative friends who feel that they can't vote for a guy like Donald Trump on principle. Well, I can't argue with that. He certainly doesn't deserve their vote. But he's getting mine, because my overriding principle is not to let libfascist monsters like Hillary win.

Now, if you want to tell me that I have no principles and don’t measure up, and blah blah blah, you should probably keep that to yourself. This is a fight you won’t win, so don’t start it. And don't look at me to start up on my #NeverTrump friends. That’s a fight that I won’t win, and bickering is only going to keep us from getting back together in 2020 to clean house and elect a real conservative president.

You do what you got to do. I'm going to do what I got to do.

So now that that’s settled, let's go pound some beers.

Trump is as conservative on economic issue as Reagan was. Even more so if views on spending are taken into account.

I guess R. Reagan was no conservative then right?

On Social issues folks have a point.

Really. I was shocked and happy to read this because I liked him until he became antiTrump in such an ugly way. Maybe I can start respecting him again.

After Donald J. Trump finishes doing all the things he has promised: build the wall, deport illegals and Syrian invaders, cancel Obama’s unconstitutional executive orders, roll back twenty years of intrusive government regulations, prosecute Hillary and her crew, release the secret 28 pages from the 9/11 report, negotiate prescription drug purchases, repeal and replace Obamacare, simplify the Tax code, repatriate $2.5 trillion in off-shore profits, stop the IRS from abridging the free speech of Christian Churches, reform the libel laws to remove the “public figure” distinctions, defund Planned Parenthood until they stop doing abortions, cleaning up the mess that is the VA, cutting waste, fraud and abuse where ever it is found, canceling Common Core and returning control of education to the States, end the assault on the Second Amendment, audit the Federal Reserve System, investigate the harmful additives in Vaccines and the coverup of studies at the CDC, and destroy the culture of Political Correctness, then we can talk about all the “Conservative” issues that need to be addressed.

Sorry to say it, but Obama was worse - twice - and it didn’t get through some skulls. Hopefully luck really does come in threes...

Look at it this way; Eight years ago, when the dimocraps had the opportunity to choose between Hillary and Obama, they choose Obama... Think of that, Obama was their FIRST choice...

Obama has been, (in my opinion) far and away, the worse thing to happen to the United States since....forever!!!

Now, can you even BEGIN to imagine how bad Hillery would be if SHE was in the white hut!!!

The Obummer was bad, but Hillary??? Within four years China would own EVERYTHING including our jock-strap!!!!

MHO...(But not mine alone)

:(

That’s an interesting grab bag of initiatives. Some of the are obviously estimable, straightforward and common sense. Some are vague and ill-defined, but laudable like “cleaning up the mess with the VA” or “ cutting waste, fraud and abuse where ever it is found”.

Some appear to me to be pernicious, like “repatriate $2.5 trillion in off-shore profits” or “investigate the harmful additives in Vaccines and the coverup of studies at the CDC”. I don’t know how you can “repatriate” $2.5 trillion in “off-shore profits” without riding roughshod over property rights.

The very last thing we need is further politicization of the CDC. The CDC, it appears to me, has worked well for about a century. Most of its staff are, I am sure, apolitical in their approach to disease. Attempts to put pressure on the CDC to pursue the latest fads, seem to me to threaten its mission.

But that’s the problem with Trump. He is unprincipled, so he has no compass to guide him. He says things that are popular, and which he may actually believe. He has no principles to buffer him against popular passions, and his own fancies of the moment. Our *form* of government was designed to protect against passions of the moment. Laws should not shift based on an internet poll. Or the political preferences of a few Supreme Court justices or the president.

Either you are a Hillary Troll, or you are being willfully ignorant. For example :
- - - -
Some appear to me to be pernicious, like “repatriate $2.5 trillion in off-shore profits” or “investigate the harmful additives in Vaccines and the coverup of studies at the CDC”. I don’t know how you can “repatriate” $2.5 trillion in “off-shore profits” without riding roughshod over property rights.
- - -
The $2.5 Billion is off-shore because the current tax rate on bringing it back is 35% and the cost of borrowing money is close to zero. Donald Trump’s proposal is to offer a one time repatriation rate of 10% before going to a fixed 16% corporate income tax. Anyone who has actually been paying attention to what he has been saying would know this.

As for the “harmful additives” in vaccines, the damage done by vaccines and the current protocols, especially for the new-born, is well documented in the alternative media, i.e., the media that is not funded by the “conservative” commercial interests such as drug companies, etc.

All of the “conspiracy theories” of the past fifty years are now being revealed a true. Fluoride was added to the water system to dumb down the population. There is now a Harvard study that proves it, and the Nazi documents about their use of fluoride have been released. The ties between the NWO crowd and the Nazis is now well established. From Soros to the Bushes they are all seeking a master race.

If you think you can get a place in the 500,000,000 people who will be left alive after the NWO takes over, you might want to up you game a little.

I stated explicitly that Hillary is far worse than Trump. I yield to no one in my contempt and hatred of Hillary Clinton. Please do not accuse me of being a Hillary troll. That aside, let’s agree to respectfully disagree.

Trump DOES have a way of growing on you, I am VERY worried about him though he is a perfectionist for details ect. When he walks into this disastrous government it IS going to be something he has NEVER had to deal with, the WASTE, the FRAUD, employees that JUST DON’T GIVE A DAMN!!!! the unions WILL make it VERY difficult for him to CLEAN HOUSE however I have come to believe Trump DOESN’T give a damn about the media he WILL take it to the people, this BEAST has to be dealt with and Trump in my mind is the ONLY ONE who can possibly do it!!!!!

Yes and Donald Trump actually knows how to make these things happen. He is not like the “true conservatives” who only talk about doing something about it while voting to fund everything Obama wants.
