Thanks “Sherman” I’ll DVR it.

It’s a hard day for me. Thinking that perhaps one of my school class mates have been forgotten and left behind. Not sure it’s God’s Will we move on or forever have this piece of our heart taken. Fighting someone else’s fight and shamed over it will forever be remembered.

My dad was in VN and thankfully came home, but he wasn’t quite the same for at least a few years (he wasn’t in one of the worst areas but it was bad enough). I remember hearing/seeing stories about people spitting on these brave military personnel when they returned. I’m glad they’ve been given some recognition and honor over the past few years. It also warms my heart when I hear people for at least the past few years on planes or in airports applauding returning soldiers and/or buying them a drink or dinner when in a restaurant. When I see them in uniform around here, I always thank them for their service, just like I do police officers and firefighters (many look at little surprised then smile and say thank you).

From what I’ve read, we were almost winning VN (or had a good chance in doing so) just like Iraq and then we had POS presidents that pulled us out too soon. Huge human costs on the military, friends, family and the people living in the countries - terribly sad with all the blood and treasure that was spent and what could have been for the people in the countries for a better future.
