Oil is near $50 and climbing as the summer driving season is upon us.

Gasoline prices finally tipped $2.00/gallon yesterday here in Aiken County, SC. Most of last week the price was $1.99.

Yesterday, on my way to town to enjoy the Memorial Day Parade, one station's cash price was at 2.00. The credit card price was $2.03. This is a station that normally has the lowest price of the ones I pass.

If gas prices are going up, it must be summertime :)

Prices even at $2.00 gal are historically low.

Gasoline was $.29-$.33 cents per gal (NJ) in the late 1950’s. Adjusting for inflation would put that price at approx. $2.46.
