I think there are powerful forces there working to make sure as much of that story remains untold.
The other major Hollywood omission (for obvious reasons) is the tiny number of films made about Stalin’s reign of terror.
There are specialized foreign dramas that take up the subject, but aside from Enemy at the Gates, no major mainstream film has really treated the subject honestly (since most studio heads were biiiig lefty sympathizers).
