Your point is moot with lefties simply because I they do not believe the common person has the right to defend themselves. The more elite the leftist is, the less he will want you to defend yourself. Think Hitler, Stalin, and Mao who were the most elite of their era. Guns in the hands of peasants were unthinkable and those caught with them got a little more than jail time.

The .223 is a mid-range varmint cartridge, serious varmint hunters use a .22-250 or something similar.

... it often takes a couple more soldiers out of the fight trying to save their wounded comrade...

It depends on who you are fighting. Some foes care little for fallen comrades.

I saw a hit piece on guns from HBO thirty years ago. Never watched them again. Still don’t have HBO.

The MSM has been churning out anti-gun scripts and “documentaries” since 1968. Before that time it was leftist newspapers that railed against gun ownership.

***This is the old lark about the .223 being so deadly***

That would mean that the Remington .222 is less deadly and the Remington .222 magnum is more deadly! OH, I’m going to faint! Get the salts!

But then, back in the 1950s, Britain wanted to adopt a .17 cal!

“This is the old lark about the .223 being so deadl”

Only inexperienced kids trying to sound knowledgeable claim the 223 is not deadly. It’s an old Internet argument by the inexperienced kids.

I never claim it can not kill you...a .22....can kill you ...I desputer is the most deadly round ot there

or are you buying in the anti gun propaganda that .223 is way to much overkill for citizens..the king of super "mankiller" round that way more powerful then you typical hunting round?

From StG44 to the AK to the AR15 the idea was a reduced size round..an intermediate cartridge vs the full power military round...

“intermediate cartridge vs the full power military round...”

There is no such thing as “full power military”. None. It is strictly a matter of opinion.

"Why would you want/need X, that was designed/intended for military use?"

Tell them the answer will dawn on them if they use their computer to access the Internet while drinking a glass of Tang.

See if they get it.

“I’m speaking from commonly accepted terms”

Internet terms, not practical ones used in the real-=world.

The Internet, the resource where everything is known to anyone yet no one knows anything.
