--- But an intelligence source familiar with the FBI probe said if Guccifer pleads guilty to compromising Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal’s AOL account – which is one of the nine charges – it will show that Clinton’s use of a personal server put sensitive information outside secure government channels and made it accessible to foreign hackers.

“[Clinton’s] gross negligence allowed this material to get out to an adversary,” the source said. “Through her communications with Blumenthal, [Clinton] contributed exposure and risk.” ---

The Democrat-controlled media isn't even mentioning Guccifer in its stories on the Inspector General's reports.

Was at Salon earlier this evening, and couldn't find a single story on the IG report or Clinton emails, either.

Since most on the left said this was all a made-up controversy, that they can't entirely get around the fact that it isn't, must be earth-shattering to them.

And contrast the scant media coverage of this with the extensive coverage/fake outrage of the Trump campaign manager grabbing a reporter's arm, a reporter whom Secret Service had already told to stay away from him.

What he did was illegal, but I don’t understand how he hurt the USA.

He was just the messenger, the one responsible for the embarrassment to a specific politician.

Hillary was responsible for the security compromise, the part that hurt our COUNTRY, which is the important part.

Lord forgive me for wishing to see Sid Blumenthal convicted of espionage and dragged away to a life sentence in whichever is the most violent and squalid federal prison in the US.

Or maybe Gitmo OTOH, he'd be among friends there.

From ABC - it seems it's been left up in the air whether or not Guccifer hacked Sidney Blumenthal's account:

The indictment does not identify the victims by name but describes "Victim 1" as "a family member of two former U.S. presidents." The Bush family member's hacked AOL account resulted in leaked emails, medical information, photographs, home addresses, and telephone numbers, according to the indictment.

The indictment also identifies "Victim 3," believed to be Secretary of State Colin Powell, and says his Facebook account was hacked, and posts went out under Powell's name stating "You will burn in hell, Bush!" and "Kill the illuminati!"

Guccifer also hacked an email account of Sidney Blumenthal, a confidant of Hillary Clinton, in March 2013. That subsequent leak of Blumenthal's emails was the first time that outsiders became aware of Clinton's private "clintonemail.com" address, which she used to communicate with Blumenthal. It has now become part of the investigation of whether Clinton mishandled sensitive emails. Lazar also made news earlier this month with unsubstantiated claims he hacked into Hillary Clinton's private email server. The plea deal does not address that allegation.

Quite a few years back I knew a guy who taught classes at a prison. He was talking to an inmate about computers and how some people can hack into them. Standing behind them cleaning the chalkboard was another inmate. The first inmate asked the teacher “How many years in prison would you get if you got caught doing that.”

The inmate working on the chalkboard said “Seven years.”

He had been convicted of hacking the University of Tennessee.

I thought he was able to make a plea deal.

There are always people who can and will hack into computers.

The real problem was that Hillary used a personal computer to transmit and receive highly classified information, which is only supposed to be on secure, classified computers.
