Bernie Sanders Agrees to Debate Donald Trump

LANCASTER, California — In the latest twist to this unpredictable 2016 presidential race, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders independently agreed Wednesday night to debate each other.

On ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Trump was asked if he would consider holding a debate with Sanders. Trump agreed to the idea.

"If he paid a sum toward charity I would love to do that," said the business mogul, noting that a Sanders vs. Trump debate "would have such high ratings."

Sanders quickly responded with a tweet reading, "Game On. I look forward to debating Donald Trump in California before the June 7th primary."

I have no doubt Hillary will get a phone call via an intermediary passing on the decision/threat. The pardon will clinch the deal.

Yes it does. For Bernie it gives him unprecedented media coverage for California and it leaves Hillary out in cold unable to respond.

It lets Trump and Sanders go after Hillary on the e-mail and pummel her. It really has no big downside to either Trump or Sanders.

>> washing her hair.

“Delousing a wig was much easier than delousing a head of hair: you’d send the dirty headpiece to a wigmaker, who would boil the wig and remove the nits. This trend was big in getting the lice epidemic under control.”

Bingo, Green Hornet. This is not about Trump vs Bernie. This is to give Bernie Sanders “face.” This is to put Hill down, where she should be.

Since so many people love Sanders, it must mean they need a lot of discussion on economics, plain and simple, and what has been tried in the world and how and why it fails.

Time to get some non gmo popcorn and real grassfed butter and sea salt here. This IS a CA debate after all. Looking forward to it.

Bernie winning Cali would be a near fatal blow to Hillary’s campaign to be president of the USA. Yes she will still be the Rat nominee but she will be a very weak candidate. Millions of Bernie’s folks will turn to Trump.

I actually think if Bernie wins Cal it will give him a real shot at being the nominee.
1. Bernie wins CA
2. Super delegates may switch to him or
3. Obama-ValJar see she won’t win if she is the nom so they drop the indictment on her or give her the option of dropping out due to illness or Bill’s illness
4. Perhaps they try and drop a Biden in
5. Bernie’s supporters riot either verbally or literally
6. Bernie is nom
(7 is we win)

Ha. Now I have to buy a TV

Don’t get too big of one. If you get 55” or larger, you can actually FEEL Sanders spittle land on your cheeks.

Bernie’s voters are not whacko. They have applied their knowledge to the situation. They just don’t have enough knowledge. They need education. They do get that the system is as corrupt as in any banana republic. We are with them in that. There is no shame in being young and not having wisdom.

I would think there are just too many crazed socialists who would do anything to be the one to take Trump out and deliver the Presidency to Bernie for that to work.

If this debate is really pulled off

“The Shot Heard ‘Round The World”

would be Trump and Bernie endin the debate and then both lookin straight into the camera and pointin like a gun and sayin
“HILLARY, YOU ARE FIRED “

Hilly sitting home, washing her hair.

More like sleeping off a drunk like she did during Benghazi.

This is a “can’t lose” proposition for both candidates.

Absolutely. And it’s a big “loss” for Hillary. I’d love to see this come about, but, I’m thinking Donald was just talking off the top of his head and didn’t really mean it.

This makes no sense at all. Why should Trump debate Bernie, if he’s not going to go up against him (we assume) in November?

Read Mariner’s comment #8. It will boost both Sanders & Trump and be a big LOSS for Madame Secretary.

It especially helps Trump if Hillary is the nominee. It’s an opportunity to siphon off some votes from Sanders supporters.

How will this damage Hillary? As fun as this would be to watch, I am not sure what is in it for Trump. It can only serve to make Bernie look horrible. Logic would say that any voters moving out of the Bernie camp would now go to Hillary because they won’t go far enough right to join Trump. Actually I would think Hillary would love this because she doesn’t have to spend the time or money on a debate and Donald does her dirty work for her. Bernie would be toast but that doesn’t help Trump. The only small advantage I can see is that it puts Trump in the national spotlight as a practice debate so to speak.

And did WHAT a second time?
I wish people would post the quotes they are referring to.
I post a lot at times, and I have no idea what you’re talking about.

There is precedent for this, you know. In September 1980 Ronald Reagan debated Independent candidate Rep. John Anderson on network television.

President Carter refused to participate in a 3-way debate and so they set up an empty chair on the podium (if I remember correctly) and both candidates pointedly kept referring to Carter and his failure to appear to debate the two of them.

Once again, Trump is following a strategy that worked for Reagan.

Here is the debate on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1IIyh3yTsM

Oh, I guess you're right. Trump debating Bernie doesn't hurt Hillary.

there was nothing to quote other than your 2nd double post, which would make less sense.

sorry you can’t keep up with your posting, but no need for you to be rude.

I didn’t intend to be rude. I just didn’t know what you were talking about.

As for the double posts; I guess it’s my PC, but I click on ‘post’ and sometimes nothing happens. I wait and if nothing happens, I hit ‘post’ again.
I apologised for the double post. What more could I do.
