I hope you don’t have pre-ignition problems with it. Most cars are designed for 87/88 octane.

If anything, it won't suffer pre-ignition, what will happen is mileage could suffer due to lack of full ignition. Higher octane is used to prevent pre-ignition, usually due to higher compression ratios. Lower compression ratios don't allow the higher octane fuel to fully combust, and you lose MPG/power.

every time I have tried to run higher octane gas in my F150 I hear pinging, which seems counter intuitive based on the science of it all.
