That is true. Have homeschooling friends and they finish in less than 4 hours a day which leaves time for science trips, gardening, learning skills, sports, etc. and they still exceed on the required state tests.

My home schooling friends tell me their kids complete the daily material in 3-4 hours each day.Mine do. They also both finished their curriculum several days shy of the state mandate, so we made up other things for them to cover to get the minimum number of days in.

And when my kids were in public school, with my wife helping the teachers, it was rare that there was even 3 solid hours of instruction in a day.
