“Like Reagan, it’s fairly obvious at this point Trump will pick someone (or maybe be forced to pick someone) tied into the current political structure to be his VP.”

Trump may want to do it simply to avoid getting overrun if he is elected. But why not select a committed conservative/constitutionalist, someone without all the baggage that Gingrich brings? Pick someone who would be a plausible choice for President. I am in favor of someone like Rand Paul, but in many ways I would prefer that Paul remain in the Senate for now. Why not Jeff Sessions?

I’ve thought Rand Paul would be a good choice. I think retired senator Jim DeMint would be good too.

I’d like to see someone younger and one who espouses conservative principles. Paul comes from a state with coal concerns, and is next door to Ohio. He is also eloquent and I think young enough (he speaks a lot on college campuses) that he could be a draw for millennials and libertarians.

I know Ron Paul said he wouldn’t support Trump but I wonder if he would reconsider if his son was on the ticket. :)
