The script has been thoughtfully modified to be appropriate for a broad, young-adult audience, the districts statement read. Carnegie students have treated the scripts mature subject matter with admirable sensitivity, skill and professionalism.

So this was the MODIFIED VERSION? What was removed from the original script to make it ‘appropriate’ for a broad, young-adult audience??
I know what you mean.
All those buzzwords to make it seem like they were keeping the younger children in mind when they were basically assaulting and degrading them as well as everyone else. Implicit in the statement you quoted is the assumption that author’s judgement is above reproach, while I find it beneath contempt. Why are the only issues that matter to them the ones that debase us as human beings, why not those that elevate us, and show mankind’s potential to transcend?
