An Australian woman who set out to climb Mount Everest to prove that vegans can do anything died Saturday after developing altitude sickness.
Maria Strydom, 34, had reached the final camp from the summit before she and her husband, Robert Gropel, both began suffering from high-altitude pulmonary edema, which caused fluid to build up in Strydoms brain, the Washington Post reports.

Well, if you have to wade through the bodies of 200 dead mountain climbers to reach the summit of Everest, take a hint. Maybe it’s not worth it.
pulmonary edema is fluid in the lungs. Cerebral edema is fluid on the brain. Both are caused by high altitude and both can be fatal. Seriously does no one do fact checking any more?
Lack of opportunity cost explains it.

I read that some one rolled green boots off the mtn. He is no longer in his little cave.
I think I read that green boots is no longer there. Apparently, the Everest authorities go up there annually and push the bodies over the edge or into crevasses.
Everest and the people who attempt to conquer it are fascinating.
