It is easier than starting out at the bottom and working her way to the top by being an actual reporter, and it looks like she has made some good investments in implants in addition to a journalism degree, so there is a chance that she can still make it.

A women who creates hoaxes shouldn’t be anywhere near reporting the news. Frankly she should be sitting in jail right now for fraud.
To her, working her way to the top would be as bad as jail.
