I don't need to console myself. Anyone who has even a passing interest is aware polls are overwhelmingly correct. The media spends many many millions on polls (they aren't cheap) and if the polls were ineffective, I don't think the media would pay all that money for them, especially considering the environment of print media.

Candidates have their own pollsters and they also spend millions on them. If the polls were meaningless, they wouldn't spend money on them, either. As you know, Trump finally hired his first pollster - to - conduct polls. How about that? Even Trump must have confidence in polls.
