DALLAS (AP) -- George P. Bush was talking about his future political plans - and how Donald Trump wouldn't reshape them - when two women approached, giddy with excitement. Eighteen months after he was elected Texas land commissioner and a few weeks past his 40th birthday, Bush is quietly continuing his family's legacy. The grandson of one former president and nephew of another, he remains a rising star in America's largest conservative state and is keeping alive the possibility that a political dynasty declared dead by many when his dad flamed out of the presidential race could yet again return to national prominence. Bush said he was part of a national conservative movement concerned about Trump's candidacy. "He has the ability to win us over if he clarifies many of his remarks and he demonstrates that he has humility and that he doesn't besmirch peoples' character as the motivating factor for why he's running for office," Bush said.

Well then you'd better do some fancy footwork fast--starting with a Trump endorsement!

"BUSH LEAGUE SORE LOSERS"

You sound like a sore winner, to me. Why don't you put your efforts into beating Hillary, instead.

We can walk and chew gum at the same time around here. There is reason to be harsh when discussing the Bushes.

That's not obvious from your posts. All you seem to do is tear down other Republican candidates. Why don't you attack Hillary once and a while. It makes me think you're a dRat troll, that CAN'T walk and chew gum at the same time.

If you think I’m a Drat troll, then you’re not looking very hard or are GOPe troll yourself.

The GOPe are doing Hillary’s bidding. If you wish to give them cover, then you’re helping Hillary.

Bush said he was part of a national conservative movement concerned about Trump's candidacy.

More Bush BS.

Never again with these people.

Texas’ popular and ideologically similar Gov. Greg Abbott

Are you saying Abbott is an open borders/amnesty stooge?

Maybe folks are pissed what the Bush family has done to this country, along with the rest of the lawyer politicians for the past 20+ years. Maybe they’ll stay pissed for next 25 years. You’ll have to deal with it.

Btw is Bush was a sore loser, along with Cruz. Not to mention being a couple of bumbling arrogant corrupt career D.C. government types.

The Bush’s were always establishment secular lefties and colossal incompetents. If they disappeared this instant, none would ever be missed.

The fact that George P. does not support Trump would probably help him in TX by 2018. Most wouldn’t even remember that otherwise. Ken Paxton will be highly vulnerable if he survives in office until 2018. And if he beast George P., he could lose to a Democrat.

So many never saw them as leftist or incompetent. George P. will have a long-term reservoir of goodwill in TX.

A familiar name in TX means everything.

What helps George P. the most is being saddled with a familiar name that the uninformed of TX can recognize on a ballot.
