Kristol’s goal is NOT to put together a winning third-party ticket. His goal is to put together a ticket that will take just enough votes from Trump to swing the election to Hillary.

That's actually doable, so Kristol is not on a fool's errand. All he needs is a ticket that can take, say, 5% of the vote from Trump.

I wonder if all these political media types pushing this #Never Trump hysteria realize they are painting themselves into a lose-lose position.

if Trump wins, they are demonstrates politically irrelevant and impotent. They can kiss their careers good bye.

If Trump loses, everyone in their audience is going to point at them as the enablers of all the destruction President Hillary rains down on the USA. They can kiss their careers good bye.

Talk about doubling down on stupid.

Bill Kristol is now Pushing a John Kyle - Joe Lieberman Ticket.

Lieberman is a Democrat.

I appreciate Bill Kristol finally admitting his party allegiance.

Anyone who buys Weakly Substandard has no right to claim to be a Republican or a Conservative.

Jon Llewellyn Kyl (/ˈkaɪl/; born April 25, 1942) is a former United States Senator from Arizona, where he served as Senate Minority Whip, the second-highest position in the Republican Senate leadership. He currently works in the lobbying group at the law firm Covington & Burling.

The son of U.S. Representative John Henry Kyl, he was born and raised in Nebraska and lived for some time in Iowa. He received his bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Arizona. He worked in Phoenix, Arizona as a lawyer and lobbyist before winning election to the United States House of Representatives, where he served from 1987 to 1995. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1994 and continued to be re-elected by large margins until his retirement. -- Wikipedia

A true man of the people.

Plus, like the other remaining major party candidates -- he's already well above retirement age.

Kyl's father, the Congressman, sounds like a decent fellow, except he's even older (and deader).
