She failed to show the slightest self discipline in managing her weight, as her job required. That failure was obvious to everyone. Why wasn't she depressed about that, instead of being depressed that Trump noticed the obvious? Trump didn't cause the problem. She caused the problem.
She probably was quite upset about her weight gain. Then, when Trump said something, the feelings boiled over. Whenever someone feels really bad about something, and another person brings it up in a judgmental way, the first person can transfer blame for all of his/her bad feelings to the other person and somehow absolve him/herself of any guilt.
