That was my thought too...it was gracious of him to allow her to continue as Miss Universe after she gained 50 pounds.

How on earth did she even manage to gain that much weight in just a few months? That would take some actual EFFORT in the eating department...it is also probably a sign of a previously existing eating disorder.

Interestingly, before she became bulimic in the aspect of puking up her food, Princess Diana at an early age (when she was in boarding school) become known for eating several helpings of cereal, numerous slices of bread to the point where she would have to go to the infirmary to get treatment for her stomach aches. The compulsive eating habits became established, only to have herself slim down due to her extensive athletic activities. Then later during her engagement to Prince Charles began throwing the food up.

Often, compulsive overeating is a sign of a burgeoning eating disorder unless the underlying cause is resolved.
