The best a Libertarian Party presidential candidate ever did was the 1.06% of the vote nationally received by Ed Clark in 1980. It was only that high because David Koch was Clark's running mate, and dropped a bunch of money on their run.
Gary Johnson got <1% in 2012, despite the uninspiring Romney-Obama November matchup.
Johnson won't crack 2% this November.

Did you see the Fox poll? He’s at 10%.

If one correctly recalls, losertarians swung the vote (i.e., successfully split the vote) in VA, handing the governorship and the state to the Dems.
(And, also if memory serves, the Dems gave the losertarian candidate money.)
