The “playgrounds” in my neighborhood are paid for by the SID’s or HOAs. Exclusively. The local residents pay for them. We work 8 hours a day, 52 weeks a year, for 30, 40 years or whatever. That is how we can afford them.

You realize that this is a completely alien concept to many. The money should come from “taxes”...which, of course, a rather high proportion of people don’t actually pay, especially net.
