I like Sessions, a lot. But he is only 6 months younger than Trump, and is from a state that Trump will easily win. IOW, he won’t be getting him any new voters to speak of. Some might even be uneasy with 2 relatively old guys (no matter how healthy) in the top 2 spots...and then that bastard Ryan being the back-up.

Best all-around pick is Jeff Sessions.Sessions would be great in office, but as a candidate / as a political calculation, he'd be less than ideal. Alabama is a mortal lock for the GOP already, so he's no help there. And he's as old as Trump (69), so he doesn't have as much of a "he'll be ready to be the nominee in 8 years" quality. (Newt has some of the same problems at 74.)
