She meets all the requirements. She called Kelsey-Seybold (covered through Medicare) and was told they don’t cover it. She called Medicare and was told she’d have to wait until re-enrollment then drop Kelsey-Seybold then apply through Medicare. This will put her past the six months of weight loss program that she did through Kelsey-Seybold.

And by the way, the Medicare rep told her “It’s done on a case by case basis so there’s not guarantee.”

We’re not rich. In fact it will take all of our meager savings but if we have to we’ll pay cash.

Not only does Medicaid cover gastric bypass surgery, https://bariatricjournal.com/cost/medicaid/, they think that they will offer gastric balloon in the future.
