Trump did say in an interview that all those things he said on the campaign trail were suggestions. Hopefully, he will make them back into promises again.
He very clearly stated in an interview that his stated positions are HIS stated positions. He accepts that he has to go through Congress to accomplish anything since he will not use EO’s like Obama.
Therefore, his positions will necessarily be modified by what Congress will allow.
You do understand he will fight for all of his promises but he will not be king. The best way to insure that he can keep his promises is to send him to Washington with a huge mandate, large enough to intimidate Congress.

Trump’s not a politician and he knows, like we do, that he cannot single-handedly implement his policies. I’ve heard him saw that in interviews too. What he says is what he wants to do, but it may need to be tweaked in order to pass. Politicians pretend like they can do everything they say, then end up doing little in reality. Trump is realistic. I’m not worried he’ll go back on his word as much as I would be with a career politician.
