It's simply Zero pushing the envelope while trying to put his Marxist stamp on America. He's only got 249 days left to do it.

As for ginning up discord, that's what a wedge issue does. Some number of Democrat voters will stay home or vote GOP because requiring junior high boys to shower with junior high girls simply defies common sense. How many will depend on how skilfully the party pushes the message.
