Sore loser Cruz can’t get over himself. He doesn’t care about the country, only his own ego.
And apparently he is not smart enough to realize that he is also hurting his own future with his current irrational behavior.
Bolstering my theory: Asperger’s.
Cruz has NO CLUE what is going on in the minds of normal people. He had NO CLUE how normal people would react to his accusation that Trump caused the violence in Chicago. And THEN Cruz modified that accusation to: Trump is calling for violence at ALL his rallies.
