“We all had better care what Ryan and other DC Republicans think.
Come November, we will need every vote. To get every vote, we will need the support of every influencer. Ryan may not be big with the Hard Core Right, but he brings votes from the MOR, and we need those votes to ensure Hillary goes down in flames!
As Benjamin Franklin said: We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
How do we make THEM (in Congress) care what we think?! Aren’t we supposed to be the drivers?
Not a challenge. Your point is valid and this is not a criticism. It’s frustration. The importance of unity is understood that’s why Trump is voicing it now.
But how do we get the DC pigs at the trough to get nervous enough to listen to us?
“How do we make THEM (in Congress) care what we think?! Arent we supposed to be the drivers?”
Good questions.
#1: The old fashioned way. Call and write. Tell them you are pizzed off and if they do not get off the gravy train, and their egos, you will tell 100 people who you know to vote for someone else, and contribute to someone else.
#2: Go to the FEC website. Find their donors (they are all listed) Call the donors and politely ask them why they are not encouraging the rep to act/vote the right way. DO not be rund or abrasive in any way, not ask them why they supported the candidate, rather politely ask questions that raise the point “Why isn’t this member not doing the things we both agree he / she should be doing???????
#3. Go to their campaign rallies and Hq and politely ask the same questions. Fine their aides (they’ll be the ones in the dark suits and red ties. Ask to speak to the head aide or Chief of Staff, or even the spouse. Again, POLITELY ask questions.
Much better to ask “directed/push questions” than make statements!!!
And remember, “The Members run the Country.... and the Chief of Staff / spouse runs the Member” :)
