I help coach the local high school “We The People” Constitutional Law team. I ask the kids which they find better: 50% of the electorate voting, where they are informed on the candidates and issues, and know exactly what they are voting for, or 100% of the electorate voting, where half of them have no clue who, what for, or why they are voting?

They struggle with that question.

50% all day long, should be easy.

The idea that the only requirements for voting being citizenship and ability to fog a mirror (with both sometimes optional) would have been anathema to the Founders.
