Going with a woman would be a transparent attempt to address his low standing among females. I’m not sure that’s the right play for Trump. It’s the kind of idea DC political consultants would like — which makes me think going for a full testosterone might be a better alternative.
I thought one of his criteria was someone with an extensive background in congress, to work to get bills through.
Political reality is what it is, but the real question is whether Brewer and Fallin are totally qualified for the job. I don’t know Fallin, but I’ve been impressed with Brewer.
Is Brewer more qualified than Kasich? Most importantly in this regard: She is far more likely to advance Trump’s basic cause of the border and stopping illegals than Kasich ever would be.
Low standing among females? Stop buying the media BS.
Trump won a majority of the female vote here in PA and other states.
I disagree. There's nothing wrong with some women being on Trump's VP short list.
And Trump's "low standing among females" is mostly hype, in any event. It's certainly exaggerated, as is his "issue" with Hispanics. Indeed, Trump is already beating Hillary in the Hispanic demographic.
Governors are logical candidates for VP. There are many GOP governors, and several of them are female.
Thus, I think it's an oversimplification to say that choosing a woman as VP on the ticket would automatically be a "transparent attempt" to address Trump's low standing among females. His standing just isn't as low as the Media is making it out to be.
Every VP candidate would bring different advantages and disadvantages to the table. Let's leave it at that without trying to pigeonhole everything into some kind of cut-and-dried gender issue.
