Is there a legal requirement to release tax returns?
No. Purely a political issue.
I don't think so. But it has become a talking point, as in "He didn't release his returns, what is he hiding?"
There are some requirements for disclosure and blind trust management for elected officials, but I don't believe anything mandatory applies to candidates.
