Ignore the fact that slavery has existed since the time of Nimrod (and perhaps earlier), and that it exists today.
Ignore the fact that a culture of entitlements leads to sloth.

That's clearly the case. The way the question is asked pretty much guarantees a skewed irrational response.
That's because of the "everyone else will pay for it" factor.
A useful reflection of actual attitude must clearly rephrase the exercise...
a) Should reparations be paid to all blacks currently living in the U.S. regardless of whether their family roots extend farther back than 1863 or not?
AND...
b) What percentage of YOUR lifetime earnings or income from all sources are you willing to contribute to the "reparations?"
If the responses are not monumentally different, I will voluntarily submit myself to an IQ reduction process of at least 40%. I value my sanity.

We “conservative” cranks have done a piss poor job of raising hell and fighting back for our future sake.
If just 1 % of Americans (3.3 Million out of 330 Million), organized and protested in DC and 50 state capitols, fought back and did outreach to schools, school boards, townhalls, and the like - we could say we were doing our best to ensure a free republic.
Ronald Reagan was absolutely correct in warning:
