I spent the better part of 30 years teaching in the Illinois University and public school system and I've seen and heard just about anything you can imagine in the line of excuses for not doing things. I too, remember Chelsea kicking around what type of Dr. she was going to be. Sort of slipped to the side I guess.

In a very unscientific study that I conducted in my spare time, I determined that of the many students that I dealt with who decided to "take a year off", fewer than half ever made it back.
