We elected presidents based on electoral college votes, which is based upon population.
You need 270 to win.
Dem states have the most electoral college votes. For example, California has 55 electoral college votes. New York has 29. Illinois has 20.
West Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky combines only has 24.
Donald Trump HAS to win at least 2 blue states to become President.
Not sure if you’re counting VA, OH or FLA as blue, but I think he gets those three. PA will be in play, and if Trump lands the Keystone State then he’s the 45th president.
This story was more about his overwhelming support in Appalachia, an area economically depressed, white, and blue collar. Not the EVs, although those will count in the end.
