That’s not right for the NCO’s are HORRIFIED of them. If they even look sideways at them they risk severe punishment, loss of rank and possible dishonorable discharge.
You can bet they “walk on eggshells” every day trying not to do, or say, anything that might set one off.
I learned very quickly if I listened to my Platoon Sergeants and First Sergeant they would have my back and point me in the right direction.
