Ted Cruz stalls on endorsing Trump (as he returned to Senate)

Ted Cruz repeatedly declined to endorse Donald Trump for president on Tuesday as he returned to the Senate for the first time since dropping out of the presidential race.

The Texas senator, who finished second to Trump in winning 565 delegates in the GOP primary, according to The New York Times’s delegate tracker, said there is plenty of time to make a decision on an endorsement.

“There are two and a half months until the Republican convention, six months until the general election,” Cruz told reporters crowded outside his Russell Building office. “There will be plenty of time for voters to make the determination who they’re going to support,” he continued, saying it would be incumbent on Trump to convince pro-Cruz voters to support him in the general election.

Cruz’s return to the Senate, where he has not cast a vote since February, came one week after he ripped Trump as an “utterly amoral” pathological liar, narcissist and bully. Later that night, Trump soundly defeated the Texan in Indiana’s primary, a loss that Cruz said cut off any path he had toward the GOP nomination.

That Feb. vote, both Rubio and Cruz flew in to support the Iranian nuke deal. Not exactly heart warming, is it?

He also avoided his own constituents during the flood crisis. According to residents, he didn’t even bother to give them a word of encouragement.

Cruz is not an honorable man. I see that he did manage to attend the Derby. Note that he wore a pale blue shirt with a pale green tie.

Later on tv, Ryan was saying he couldn’t yet support Trump. Interestingly, he was wearing that same pale blue shirt and pale green tie. I laughingly wondered if it was a fashion statement or some sort of sign.

I’m not laughing now. Not after that delegate rules change exposure.

After the dirty politics he tried playing against Trump, I would be surprised if he will see a second term.

“I received 3 pieces of mail from CRUZ between yesterday and today.”

Hmm, did his PAC send them out?

Jeb never had much traction. Rubio was, after all, supposed to be the anointed one.

No. I was only saying that Cruz has not reneged on his pledge to support the GOP nominee, who will be elected by the delegates at the convention.

Cruz is a marked man after his campaign shenanigans. The Senate hates him, Real blue blood Americans hate him, Canadians don’t want him back, and now he wants to waltz back into the Senate thinking that Texas loves him after he embarrassed them in front of the whole world...

Ted Cruz no longer has a bright future anywhere but still he acts like the “Chosen One”.

No more Cruz.

You mean the fat that he hasn’t openly said the words .... he has been chatting with folks interested in running a third party candidate, he indicated the Trump was not worthy to be president....lots of hints

We will see.

I suggest he will never support Trump but will try to remain hidden in the back ground lurking
