“1984” was a once- futuristic, time frame. Mathematically- that’s 32 years past tense.
The reality, today- and our culture, are represented by a pair of arms holding a ream of paper, of perhaps 18 inches in thickness, outside the window of an accelerating automobile. The laws, logic, mores, taboos, etc., are written upon those pages. The arms belong to the powers of government, and it’s people.
