House Speaker Paul Ryan opened the door Monday to stepping down as Republican convention chairman if asked by presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump, whom Ryan has declined to endorse.

Ryan first made the comments during a meeting with Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporters.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Christian Schneider tweeted: “.@SpeakerRyan on whether he'd step down as convention chair if Trump asks: I'll do whatever he asks me to do.”

Asked about the reported comments, a spokeswoman for Ryan confirmed to Fox News: “That is his position, yes.”

So you’re saying he should abandon conservative ideals?
You mean those conservative ideals that have served our country so well these last seven years? The ideals supported by Mitch? By John Boehner? By Ryan? McCain? Graham? Those conservative ideals?

Yeah - those ideals have done our nation a boat load of good...

“Oh, he’s not building the wall anymore?”

I don’t know. Why don’t you ask him what he told the New York Times, when he said he didn’t mean what he said in the debates and was flexible?

“Not going to deport illegals anymore?”

As a matter of fact, he’s soft on amnesty. His stated positions have been all over the map, but he sounds a lot like Rubio on this issue. He said he wants to keep the “good ones”. I hope deportation isn’t a deal killer for you.

“He’s waffling on building up the military now?”

He speaks out of both sides of his mouth. On the one hand, he says he wants to build it up, then he says he doesn’t want to go into other countries anymore. Which is it?

“Going to let unlimited Muslims in now?”

That will never happen. So you score 1 point.

“To hell with our vets now?”

I care about our vets, but this isn’t exactly a huge issue.

“Embracing Obamacare now?”

As a matter of fact, he embraces parts of it. He embraces the individual payer mandate, and doesn’t want people “dying on the streets” because they don’t have health care. Does that sound conservative to you, or a bleeding heart liberal?

“Vote for Killary then. That’s the real choice now, isn’t it?”

No way I do that, but what exactly are the reasons I should vote FOR Trump?

Is he going to act like a conservative at any time prior to November, or is he going to continue talking about leftist positions like letting men in little girls’ restrooms and raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour.

I’m waiting to hear something conservative that appeals to me....

And waiting.....

And waiting.....

Since conservative ideals in this primary has come to mean support the Ted Cruz/Jeb Bush team, yes, it is time to abandon it.

It is time to support and promote American ideals.

Looks like Douche Nozzle Diamond6 is trolling again.

“Trump has to unify us!”, so we dig our heels in and refuse to unify and then we get to say “See, he didn’t unify us!”

What a joke you people are.

Too bad the people who voted like him, even if the spineless GOPe hacks like Ryan do not.

Why wasn’t Cruz back in Washington rather than swanning around Lexington, Kentucky dressed as Colonel Sanders while sipping a mint julep? Part of the reason he wanted to be prez is because he was soooo very bored with being a senator. And it was so very below his pay grade.

At least Trump will work hard if he gets the presidency. He obviously doesn’t get bored easily.

Are you really that stupid?

I’ve been fighting those idiots for years. I’m not in favor of them. But Deceptive Donnie has been funding these guys, and he’s been supporting the same positions.

We have tried conservatism since 1988.

Learn your history a little bit before you make such a ridiculous statement.

Ryan should either announce that he supports Trump or resign as convention chair. Period.

Saying he’ll resign only if Trump asks is simply another chickenshit move by Ryan.

‘Yes, he put a strong pro-life individual on his staff.”

Don’t know who you are referring to, but he himself is “pro-life with exceptions”, and I don’t believe he has the resolve to stick with even that position. I also don’t believe he will hold the line on like minded Supreme Court judges when he inevitably has to fight the left for them.

Why does he support men in girls’ bathrooms and “considering” raising the minimum wage?

Those are liberal positions he has espoused in just the last week.

Do you not see this, or are you blinded by your trance for Deceptive Donnie?
