I think he’ll come around.
A few minutes ago he was talking about the America First thing, but he doesn’t attack Trump over it, just tries to put it in context. Yes, we had politicians who didn’t want to get involved in another European war, but events pulled us in anyway. To say they were wrong then would be to say the vast majority of Americans were wrong.
Events changed things. However, certain countries thought we’d have their back so they could do whatever they wanted... In other words, Americans didn’t want American troops to die for British or French ambitions. When Hitler got as bad as he did, that was another thing, as we saw—over time—that he wouldn’t stop until we were in his sights.
Anyways, Rush is pointing out that in hindsight, the America First movement was wrong in the 1930s early 40’s, but it’s not like Trump wants to ignore Hitler, because Hitler nor anyone like him is looming over Europe. different place and different TIME.
He negotiates everything he does.
For Rush Not to keep that in mind when he tries to pigeonhole or stereo type the Donald in various issues is a huge mistake.
Actually, it puts him in the same boat with hard left commentators desperate to get anything at all on trump made up or not.
I’m finding his “...served in Viet Nam” throw-away line bothersome today.
Yes, I understand the sarcasm and agree with his derision of Kerry, but just yesterday I attended a memorial service for a TRUE Viet Nam hero. No fancy medals or other recognitions, but this hero upped for a second tour just so his twin brother wouldn’t have to serve there. He figured he had a better chance of surviving than his “cherry” brother would....and survive he did....until he contracted a VRSA infection in a VA hospital.
