As to the poppy fields, the US Gov had no problem dropping agent orange on US to ‘defoliate’ why not take out the poppy fields.

AO in Vietnam did a better job eliminating US - in the long term. There is no way to gauge how many lives were ‘saved’ by AO but the number being treated for the after shock are tremendous.
