There are all kinds of reasons to oppose illegal immigration, some of which are highly intellectual and require a sophisticated vocabulary to express. The question is not whether we can accept Latino culture (anyone who grew up in CA is quite familiar with the culture)--the question is whether we want the border to be wide open and for the US to become more like Mexico, with the pollution, crime, and poverty.
