For years, it was only women. I guess they figured women would tolerate it, and some men would like it. Now, they’re salting in men a lot. It was revealed in season two of Black Sails that Captain Flint’s entire motivation for his story was the ill treatment his nobleman lover had received (I deleted it the moment they kissed). On Halt and Catch Fire, the main guy had sex with another man just to piss off the other man’s sugar mama. The Walking Dead has at least three gay men, and I dropped Fear the Walking Dead last Sunday when two men kissed. Now, Once Upon a Time has made Little Red Riding Hood and Dorthy Gale lovers. I don’t think they’ve ever had the “courage” to have gay men, but I’ll only find out by reading about it.
Go here for graph.
Many movies are action or comedy flicks designed to appeal to twentysomething guys, plus they only take 90 or 100 minutes. With TV series, it's a lot easier to work in the mandatory gay characters, just as it's easier to work in racial minorities.
I haven’t seen Daredevil here in the Philippines yet, but sounds like it ain’t worth watching. I might come off as a chauvinist, but I don’t care anymore. Pretty much tired of all these shows pushing the gay/gblt/women are better than any man agenda. That being said, for some weird reason, I kinda like the stupid nerdy humor on the Big Bang Theory.
I enjoy the show myself. It hasn't been used to preach pc nostrums and is basically apolitical as best I can tell, so it's not become tedious. It's fun, lighthearted, well written and has a good cast.
How right you are. These idiots would complain if every movie this year was about a black lesbian. Not enough Hispanic gay transgender men. You CANNOT win by clocking and complaining about differences. I learned this in second grade.
Change comes over time. If they want to have stats on gays in film, check the number of films with openly homosexual characters every 10 years. They should be happy with that progression.
You did not! just say in your post, “When transgenders try to pull it off,” no you didn’t, ROFL!
So let Ellis go write a salable screenplay, get it funded and brought to the big screen with all the GLAAD characters they want. Certainly the GLAAD community could do that, bring a profit even. Right?
I live overseas, so only see it periodically. When I first saw the commercials for it, refused to watch it because it just seemed like another “bashing men” type show. Got off my high horse and watched it a few times and liked the humor. I think the thing that kinda hooked me was my girlfriend understanding some of the humor and laughing like a banshee at Sheldon. Her laugh is infectious :D
Lets talk under-represented. Conservative Jews like me.
The concept of the Elektra character is a little goofy and she brings down the show a little, but it was the comics that created her, not the show itself. Anyway, having the Punisher on the series almost cancels her out.
I didn’t mind Elektra, but it was silly having her as a little terror as a tiny child. Still, it was a great season and I’d rather just have a season three instead of the huge crossover they’re building.
Hollywood wants to make movies that make money, not movies that are guaranteed to tank at the box office.
We’re not willing to pay to drink propaganda swill, and the PTB in Hollywood know it.
Hollywood still makes movies?
I thought all they made anymore are soft core gay porn and LGBT propaganda films.
No.
The people who make these movies care about exactly one thing: Money
If casting black gays or Asian lesbian main characters sold more tickets than casting white men, they’d do it in a heartbeat. It doesn’t so they don’t.
What this really says is that the people who go to movies (everyone in the country, pretty much) is more willing to spend their money on white male leads. I guess the brainwashing hasn’t been perfected yet.
Apparently, faggots aren’t demanding to be represented as intelligent.
They’d want to do films about faggots molesting little boys.
