I think Dems are giving Warren national name recognition (which she doesn’t have) just in case Biden has to step in later.

But for now she can be the attack dog while Hillary sits back looking like she is “nice”

The Dems have to account for the possibilities of Hillary getting indicted for treason, and for Hillary getting more seriously ill or croaking, or even just Hillary falling behind in the polls.

Any of those, and they would need to sweep Warren to the top of the ticket (the old New Jersey switch).
