Well, I’m not a they ever were trustworthy, but I know what you mean. Backing out on a pledge shows a lack of character, for sure.
Trump’s response has been spot on. He doesn’t back down one bit, just goes after them harder. LOL! It is very refreshing.
It's genuine, shows how he deals with issues, how important or unimportant certain things are. On the pledges, he "released" Cruz weeks ago, signaling he doesn't think the pledges matter, per se. He prefers people be and show who hey are and what they stand for. After all, that's what he does.

Harder, and in proportion to how they hit him. Ryan says "not ready to support," Trump comes back, "me neither, back to you." But for Lindsey Graham, who Trump no doubt sees as a pissant, he hammer back hard, in reaction to Graham's characterizations of Trump as a clown and conspiracy kook.
