Mitt Romney, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee, said at a dinner in Washington on Thursday night that he had no intention of supporting presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, and said he was "dismayed" by what he saw as a drift toward "demagoguery and populism" in both parties.

How is populism not conservative and how is the GOP conservative ?
This word ... conservative ... is a state of mind, not a party

Predictable, just like his old man who actively campaigned against Barry Goldwater in 1964. Both of them are scumbags!!!

This actually bad news. Mormons tend to vote the way Romney tells then to and he will probably tell them to vote for Hillary. Mormons have been trending to the left for a while now but the Romney v Trump feud may speed up the separation.

Why is this important? A lot of the good old boys say they aren’t going to back Trump. They’re a dime a dozen.

How is populism not conservative and how is the GOP conservative ?,/i> Populism is definitely "not conservative".
Historically, Populism is the political philsophy of the "little man" who has given up...and is demanding that government protect him from the predations of the "rich and powerful".
Populism is also the home turf of demagoguery -- Romney is correct to relate the two.
The question is whether or not Trumpism is Populism...or something else.

That’s OK, Mitt, I didn’t vote for you, either. I was concerned about evil.

No thanks!

RINO Romney is a sore loser. Trump is succeeding where he failed.
To: C19fan
Romney should have been worried about being popular. Moron. Loser.

I’m surprised Romney hasn’t barged his way in and declared
he’s running in order to stop Trump. He does need to just
be quiet.
