Republicans enter any presidential election with a big disadvantage in the electoral college. I think we need to be the Big Tent party in order to beat Hillary—just so long as everyone realizes they have to line up behind Trump and not the other way around. They get to stay in, but Trump (and his supporters) will be the one running the show now. Looking at what Perry said, I think he clearly understands that.

There are a few really egregious types that we would do better to never have on our side, but looking at Perry’s positions, I don’t think he should be one of them. Perry isn’t one of my favorites, but he is certainly not to blame for that litany of D.C. establishment failures, and we shouldn’t reject his support.

I wasn't speaking of Perry specifically. But I understand. Politicians are like prisoners in the joint. The place is full of innocent people according to most of them. Ask almost any politician if they take any responsibility for decades of mismanaged reckless government at the at the fed or state level. They all blame someone else. And it goes on and on.
