This is actually a feint against the growing Chinese influence in Eastern Russia. Most of the Siberian economy is 100% dependent upon China; most of the infrastructure and jobs comes directly from China. China wants Siberia for the natural resources, and with tens of millions of Chinese now living in Siberia and Beijing effectively controlling the economy of Siberia - Russia needs to do something or in a generation China will “embrace” Siberia and that is that.

It is not so simple - everything you said is true - but the Chinese are not all “ethnic” Chinese and Chinese from that part of the world are not exactly the patriotic kind. China is not a homogenous country. China has also rarely moved outside of its ‘realm’. They built a wall for a reason and that wall is also mental. The Chinese prefer to expand their empire via influence. They want nations to come to them and kow tow rather than go out and rule land directly outside of its Chinese heartland.

This should have been done long ago if they wanted to preserve their country. They should have made Far East a well-populated economically viable region, which is quite feasible because they can capitalize on trade with advanced economies of E. Asia.

It is at least two decade late. This has been a great strategic blunder of Russia, which has always mystified me. China is wasting no time to slowly take over the region. They are resorting to their old-fashioned way of sending large number of migrants to settle sparsely populated area.

And just in case the Russian defense of Siberia is too daunting, the Chinese are also salivating over underpopulated, under-defended, politically correct Australia, preoccupied with global warming and the rest of Western Decadence, just a little to the south.

Russia would be a tough foe.

But the Australians--if they're as enchanted with Europe as the seem to be--might even pay the Chinese to invade and conquer them.

"...This is actually a feint against the growing Chinese influence in Eastern Russia..."

Thanks for saying this.

It's straight out of "Camp of the Saints", which as we know predicted everything currently going on with the demographic destruction of Christian Europe. It also predicted this, above.

Those millions Chineses are invisible, no single Chinatown in all Siberia. According to official statistic there are circa 50 000 Chinamen in all Russia while about half of million Russians from Far East and Siberia moved to China in last decade.70% of Russian territory are frozen swamps.
