Trump is the presumed nominee, and his fiercest critics on the right haven’t budged. Trump is quite distinguished from who he was running against in a number of ways, and he may face a challenge in converting their supporters to his side before November.

The situations weren't even close to equivalent.
Trump had the People's support, and Cruz didn't.
Ted Cruz showed disdain for the voters' choice, and insulted their intelligence, calling them "low information" which is totally false.
Cruz had nowhere near enough delegates to make any serious run at winning a contested convention, and thus was simply hoping for some kind of GOPe/delegate enabled "theft", using "greased skids" "GOP superdelegates" fabricated in states like Colorado.
So, at least for Trump supporters, the argument that they could not in good conscience vote for Cruz was by far the more reasonable one.
But it's time to unify behind our nominee, and stop crying over spilled milk.
There shouldn't be too many intellectually honest members of this community wringing their hands about voting for Donald Trump.
Donald Trump is the presumptive nominee; he will have a solid majority of delegates, and he has received a yuuuge number of popular votes: more than any GOP Presidential primary candidate in history, I believe.
Voter enthusiasm for the GOP has been through the roof, breaking records everywhere. Conversely, Democratic turnout has been severely depressed, even with the Hillary-Bernie battle raging.
Anyone who is expressing reluctance to vote for Donald Trump is either being disingenuous, is still bitter about Ted Cruz, or is so misguided that they don't understand that Hillary is, by many orders of magnitude, the clear and present danger to the country.
It's time for Cruz supporters to stop flirting with disaster and get their heads straight going into the GOP convention.

The Revolution is ON, folks! I hope it is real and that every patriotic American should want to be part of it.
As Donald says: "Think BIG!"
I'm reminded of what happened during the (original American) Revolution, after Washington had held command for 1 year or 2. Factions formed within Congress and the military hierarchy, and Revolutionaries in general, regarding who should be Commander-In-Chief of the Continental Army.
Some of our Founders, such as Massachusetts men Samuel Adams or John Adams, for example, were quite unhappy with the Virginian slaveholder George Washington, disliking his "fabian" or incremental tactics, and his steadfast refusal to seek definitive head-to-head engagements with the Redcoats. Indeed, many of Washington's greatest achievements involved the execution of prudent retreats.
But I digress. The issue I'm raising is that there were those who thought that Gen. Horatio Gates should be the Commander-In-Chief instead of Washington; others preferred Gen. Charles Lee (who probably committed treason during the war, BTW); and so on. There were even some "behind-the-scenes" intrigues that went on with drunken tongue wagging, backstabbing personal letters, and the like.
But my point is that many Revolutionaries had to "settle" for a leader that they thought was deeply flawed, or inherently inferior to someone else that they preferred But they danced with who brung 'em, and the man who led it ended up becoming the Father of Our Country.
I believe that the more Revolutionary symbolism that Trump uses during this campaign, the better, because this is (potentially, at least) a Revolution that is occurring. And, like the original one, if it succeeds, it will only be accomplished with about 1/3 to 1/2 the (voting, in this case) population, say. There will always be a stubborn minority that will be "Loyalists" and will be against the Revolution no matter what.
The great thing here is that we don't have to replace our Constitution or Founding principles: all we need to do is restore them.
If Donald Trump— through a pro-growth, populist/nationalist/conservative prism, can help awaken in the Peoples' minds those ideals which are the birthright of every American: maximum Liberty, minimum Government, Justice for All, Accountability, Opportunity— then what's happening could be a Re-Revolution. A Restorative Revolution (just the good parts restored from the original, so to speak!). Let's get the American mind back!

We may be disillusioned eventually, but there's no reason not to be hopeful; look at the ordeal that this man had to endure from hordes of vicious haters across the entire Establishment spectrum. Tuning into 5 minutes of it at any time from any source would reveal blatant distortion of information; the most slanted propaganda and yellow journalism that you could possibly imagine.
Donald Trump withstood that relentless onslaught for months on end. He became stronger, and emerged the winner.
What Trump has done is an incredible, amazing feat by any reasonable standard of measurement.
There's something BIG happening, and we can all be part of it! Don't stand on the sidelines, and have a little faith! Let's do this!

You're right, you did indeed say **about**, which gives you all the wiggle room in the world.
There were other candidates who wanted to secure the borders, so that’s not a big plus for Trump.
Like who? Until Trump came along and made illegal immigration an issue, and did so in a *big* way, who was making that a focal point of their campaign? All the others, with the possible exception of Ted Cruz, if they ever talked about illegal immigration, it was merely lip service, not serious. And in the case of ¡Jeb! it was worse -- it was an act of love!
All those other guys up there against Trump, excepting Ben Carson and Fiorina, were at some time GOP officeholders. What the hell did any of them ever do in a practical, significant, concrete way to even attempt to put an end to illegal immigration?
The last time a candidate talked about loving America, was long ago and that man was Reagan.
Trump REALLY love America, which is very evident to all who hear him and don't have a closed mind.
Why did Trump "need" to give up his normal life, his happy family, his free time, and his own money , to run for the presidency? HE DIDN'T; except that he LOVES this nation and her people and yearns to save it and us from the brink!
He is a true patriot, doesn't need the money ( which he is NOT going to take, when he is president! ), doesn't need the power ( he already has a LOT of that), and certainly doesn't need the "fame" !
He's not a stupid man, is more than wealthy enough to save himself and his family and just get out of here, when things go down the tubes.
Instead, like our FFs, he has put his business, his family, his fortune, and his life on the line!
Frankly, there hasn't been anyone like him, since the beginning of this nation.
He grumbles about the same things we do, but unlike us, he has the money, connections, and the guts to do much MORE than just grumble about what has gone SO wrong in this country. And yet, some here claim to not "trust" him. OTOH, they "trusted" Ted, for NO reason at all, other than the false stories he told and the facts he didn't tell !
There is no reason to insult Cruz or his supporters since he is no longer relevant, which to many Cruz supporters is the greatest insult of them all.

Really, extraordinary praise which I see often among his supporters. I admit I’ve never seen it. I’ve always thought of Trump as a guy who would do whatever it took to make him another buck. I just never saw the principled patriot. I always saw the guy who would donate to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi if it would get his golf course built.
Reading posts like yours are very helpful to me, because obviously Trump has something that I don’t see. So reading your amazing praise starts to give me an idea how Trump supporters think of him.
Let me ask though. What are the things that worry you about a possible Trump presidency?
Secondly, I understand Trump because I am near to him in age and also grew up in NYC. I know what those times were like, how patriotic everyone was and how it was fostered in all of the schools there, on T.V., etc.!
When he talks it resonates with me and with most people. Unlike pols, especially ones who a degree in the law, he doesn't use WEASEL WORDS, yes, he's blunt, but he doesn't talk down to his audiences.
This is NOT "devotion" at all. He inspires people like Reagan did and he doesn't have to use other people's words to do it.
You don't like what I posted, I get that, but how about YOU naming someone else who left a very comfortable life and placed himself and his family in harm's way, just by running in a presidential primary.
Sure he played "the game" and donated to one and all. He's far from the only one who has/still is doing that. OTOH....he doesn't like it at all and would like that all to stop ASAP.
What worries me about a Trump presidency?
That Congress won't allow him to do as much as he wants to.
That he doesn't fire all of the leftovers from the Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations in every department.
That a cray/crazies try to assassinate him/a member of his family.

EVERY photo of Trump between now and November (and probably many months after Nov) WILL BE the “worst possible” exposure - exaggerating his hair, his posture, his fingers, his grimaces, and his nose hairs!
(And EVERY photo of Hillary in the ABCNNBCBS publicity WILL BE the best possible, best air-brushes, best posed propaganda image you can image!)
But I CAN see any Kasich supporter, every Bush supporter, every Graham supporter, and most Pataki supporters voting for Hillary.
Dole? Boehner? McConnell? McCain? Romney? Riece? All sitting out the election out of spite and hatred for Trump.

CNN has a poll out showing (of course) Clinton leading trump by 13 points. In this poll they discuss the unfavorable numbers of both which are similar and within the MOE.
Then they mention past races and say this, “Bill Clintons FAVORABLES were 42% in 1992”. Notice how rather than report on his UNFAVORABLES as being 58% (higher than Trumps are now) they spin it by reporting the lower number (favorable) and compare it to the higher number of the opponents UNfavorables.
When Trump calls the media “dishonest” he has it dead right.
I agree. I recall in 2008 when Clinton lost in the Primaries her supporters vowed to stay home and they would NEVER vote for Obama.
Never happened and it won’t happen now with Trump.
A 42% favorable rating does not translate to or imply a 58% unfavorable rating. The two numbers won't add up to 100% due to "no opinion/don't know". For example, in May, 1992, when Clinton's favorable rating was 42%, his unfavorable was 48% -- not 58%.
